This edition of the STEMcast: Career Insights video series features Dr. Valerie Sessions, affiliate professor of computer science at Charleston Southern University and computer scientist at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Atlantic! Dr. Sessions received her Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the University of South Carolina. Her research interests vary widely and include data quality, development of exoskeleton standards, video management systems, and video analytics. In her spare time, she serves on several advisory committees including the Global Privacy and Information Quality Working Group (GPIQWG) of the U.S. Department of Justice, Charleston Women in Tech, Palmetto Roost, and the Program Committee for the International Conference on Information Quality. It was a pleasure to chat with Dr. Sessions, and we at the CEJC are incredibly grateful for her involvement in the CEJC and her many contributions to the Lowcountry STEM and professional organization communities.
